I’ll be in Singapore next week from Tuesday, October 3 through Friday, October 6. If you’re in the area and would like to get together please let me know. I’d be happy to meet up for coffee, drinks, or a meal somewhere.

Have a safe trip! Please let me know the must see places, I will be doing a work trip to Singapore in November
I’ve spent months in Singapore the past two years. The food is the star attraction of Singapore. Fish and crab curry, Hainan chicken rice, laksa, durian, hawker centers, and their renditions of international cuisine are all top notch.
Marina Bay Sands and Gardens are wothwhile. Make sure you check out the rooftop scene, and go for a walk in the Gardens. The casino is OK if you are into that kind of thing, you can experience how different the vibe is from Las Vegas.
I found India town to be pretty interesting. And Sentosa is pretty chill for hanging out.
I’ve also been to Universal Studios, the water park, Resort World Sentosa, the aquarium, the shopping centers downtown, Jurong Bird Park, the Merlion. They’re OK but if you have visited similar places in other countries, they aren’t must see in my book.
I was living more like a local there, so I enjoyed touring open houses with jaw dropping prices, kart racing on a world class track, riding around in my friend’s Ferrari, and rooftop bars/nightclubs.
Forgot to mention, try out a high end spa. Really a great experience with the luxury of Singapore and the skill of a well-trained Chinese masseuse.
I agree with the spa recommendation. I enjoy getting massages in Singapore. They are cheaper than in the US but are just as good, if not better.

The biggest advice I can give for a first time visitor to Singapore is to stay in one of the main high-density areas. Personally, I prefer staying on Orchard Ave. It’s the main commercial and shopping district. I’m not much of a shopper myself (in fact, I don’t think I’ve ever bought anything in any of my 10+ trips to Singapore), but the shopping malls are extremely impressive and it’s a lot of fun to walk around. There are also a lot of food stalls in the basements of the shopping centers, and that’s where you can get the best cheap local food.
